Want This Fixed, Not Just Diagnosed?

A hand-built small business website starts at $650, with a $149/month care plan that keeps HTTPS, speed, SEO basics, and everything else on this checklist handled for good — not a one-time fix that quietly rots again.

What this free website audit tool actually checks

Fourteen checks, run live against your homepage the moment you click the button — no cached data, no guesswork, no score inflated to make you feel good. Here's what each group is actually looking for and why it's worth fixing.

    Trust & Speed

HTTPS isn't optional anymore — Chrome and Safari flag plain http:// sites as "Not Secure" the moment someone lands on them, and Google has used HTTPS as a ranking signal for years. We check that your site loads over HTTPS and that a plain http:// request actually redirects there instead of just happening to also work. Response time matters just as much: a homepage that takes three-plus seconds to respond loses visitors before they see anything, and search engines quietly rank slow sites lower.

    Search Visibility

Your title tag and meta description are the headline and preview text Google shows in search results — too short and they waste space, too long and Google truncates them. We also check for exactly one main heading (H1), Open Graph tags (what shows up when a link is shared on Facebook or texted to a friend), JSON-LD structured data, and whether robots.txt and sitemap.xml exist to help search engines actually find and crawl your pages.

    Mobile, Access & Trust Signals

A missing mobile viewport tag means your site renders zoomed-out and unusable on a phone — where most of your traffic almost certainly comes from. We check image alt text, which matters for screen readers and for Google Images; whether a phone number, email, or contact link is actually visible on the homepage; and whether your footer copyright year has drifted years behind, a small detail that quietly signals "nobody's maintaining this" to a visitor deciding whether to trust you.

Every check above runs against a single live fetch of your homepage — the same request a search engine crawler or a first-time visitor would make. We don't ping a third-party API, we don't guess from a cached snapshot, and we don't inflate the score to make you feel better about hitting "check my site." Each item is graded pass, warning, or needs-fixing on its own, and the checks that affect every single visitor — HTTPS, mobile rendering, and page speed — carry more weight in the final score than the ones that mostly matter to search engines. A score in the 90s means your site is in genuinely good shape. A score in the 60s or below usually means there's a real, fixable reason your website isn't converting the way it should.

We built this tool because most small business owners have no way to tell whether their site is actually costing them customers, short of paying a consultant for an audit or guessing from bounce-rate numbers they don't have time to interpret. In practice, the same handful of problems show up again and again on older or DIY-built sites: a missing meta description that leaves the Google snippet blank, a mobile viewport tag nobody ever added, a footer still stamped with a copyright year from before the pandemic, or a homepage that takes four seconds to load because of an unoptimized hero image nobody ever compressed. None of these are hard to fix once you know they're there — which is the whole point of checking.

    Website checker questions, answered straight

Is this website checker actually free? +
Yes, completely — no signup, no credit card, no trial that converts into a bill later. Run it as many times as you want, on your own site or anyone else's public site, up to a light rate limit that only exists to stop automated abuse.
What exactly does the tool check? +
It loads your homepage live and checks HTTPS and the HTTP-to-HTTPS redirect, response time, title tag length, meta description length, heading structure, the mobile viewport tag, favicon, Open Graph tags, JSON-LD structured data, image alt-text coverage, robots.txt, sitemap.xml, whether a phone number or contact link is visible, and whether the footer copyright year looks current. Every result comes from a real fetch of your site at the moment you run it, weighted into a single 0-100 score.
Do you store my URL or the results? +
No. The check runs live in a serverless function and the result is returned straight to your browser. Nothing about the URL you entered or the grade it received is written to a database or logged anywhere we can see later.
Is this just a sales pitch in disguise? +
The tool itself is free and yours regardless of what you do next — there's no gated report and no forced email capture to see your results. If your grade turns up real problems and you'd rather have someone fix them than DIY it, that's what our web design service is for, but the checker works the same whether you ever contact us or not.
Why did my score seem lower than I expected? +
The rubric is deliberately strict on a few high-impact items — HTTPS, mobile viewport, and page speed carry the most weight because they affect every visitor and every search ranking. A site can look great to a human and still lose points on things like a missing meta description or Open Graph tags, which are invisible to visitors but matter to Google and to how your links look when shared.
